WOMAN FIRED FOR ATTRACTIVE FIGURE, LAWSUIT CLAIMS

Posted by Brandon J Burton on 06/03/2010

A New York City woman has filed a lawsuit against Citibank, her former employer, claiming that she was fired because her body was "too distracting." Debrahlee Lorenzana states in her lawsuit that she was told by her bosses that because of her height and figure, she should not wear similar dress clothing to other women at the bank because she was a distraction to male employees. The lawsuit states that she was transferred to a new branch and eventually fired. She is currently undergoing private arbitration with Citibank and is seeking unspecified damages.
